Midwest ToughMan Enduro Series

 Description

A Midwest Enduro Series has been discussed for many years. Each of the Midwest Districts offers a good enduro series, and many riders enjoy attending events in neighboring Districts. Despite the interest, the District schedules, logistics and the economy have all played a part in never really being able to put a “Midwest Enduro Series” together.

Additionally, some District enduro events suffer lower participation levels due to their perceived difficulty. However, there are many riders that seek out the challenge of these “old school enduros,” which are becoming increasingly rare. These events are valued by many as an opportunity to test themselves and to improve their skills.

The Midwest ToughMan Enduro Series will attempt to offer an incentive for riders to attend at least one event in each of the Midwest Districts. An attempt will be made to include the events from each of the Districts that are considered to be a “tough” event in that District. The venues will be dependent upon District schedules so that riders will be able compete in their home District enduro schedule, without conflicting with a Midwest ToughMan Series event.

Format

The Midwest ToughMan Enduro Series will utilize existing District events. There will not be anything extra for an event promoter to do. They will run their event just as they always have. Participants in the Midwest ToughMan Enduro Series will run their same class, course, etc as usual. After the event, the Midwest ToughMan Enduro Series officials will utilize the normal finish report that the club provides their respective District scorekeeper.

Typically, riders in the A and B classes ride the entire course, with C classes riding a shortened course. The course designations at each event will remain the same at each event. There will be no special, unusual or additional course requirements due to a rider participating in the ToughMan Enduro Series. Each rider will compete in their usual class, and will ride the course designated for their class at the event.

Series will utilize one enduro event from each of the Midwest Districts (14, 15, 16, 17, and 23). Series will attempt to utilize the reputed “toughest” events from each District. In no case will an event selected to be included in the Midwest ToughMan Series be in conflict with an enduro event in one of the other Districts.

Classes for the series will be “A Class,” “B Class” and “C Class.”  Points will be awarded as per the riders Overall Finish (in their respective class) in each of the designated events (1st=30, 2nd= 25, 3rd= 21, 4th=18, 5th=16,  6th=15, each subsequent place -1 point down to 20th=1).   A riders best for scores out of the five events will be counted for the series championship (one "throw-away" of the five events is allowed).

Participants will register for inclusion in the series thru the Midwest Enduros website - See below for sign up form. There is no charge to register or participate in the Midwest ToughMan Series (other than normal event entry fees). Participants must register for participation in the Midwest ToughMan Series prior to the start of the third event in the series, in order to be eligible for series prizes.

Riders that enter all five events will receive a Midwest ToughMan Series muscle shirt.
