The route sheet is posted on the front page of the WFO website.
For all other information including a map go to www.pgoffroadracing.com
With the reset format we are using you cannot leave the check before your minute comes up. Just like at the start of an enduro.
While we have tried to have realistic times in the test sections, if a really fast rider were to "burn" the out check, they will simply receive a zero for the check. In other words, there will not be a penalty for getting there to early.
Hope to see you there. Edited by Layton - 24 September 2009 at 10:52am |

Sorry, but please refresh my memory. It's been a long time since my last enduro...on the route chart, could you tell me the meaning of the column with all the 1L, 1R, 2R, 2L, Free to, Reset at, Reset to, etc. What's all that mean again?

Well, the 1L, 1R etc is just plain an error. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.
But 1L would mean turn #1 and it would be a left turn.
The free to means just that. No checks until whatever that mileage is.
Resets are just that. Say you are at 12.0 miles with an average speed of 24mph. We tell you to reset from 12 miles to 24.0 miles. You didn't move but you gained a half hour of time.
So, in the above example, if you were 10 minutes late at that 12 mile point and you reset to 24 miles, you are now 20 minutes ahead even though you didn't move a wheel.
Resets are used to get riders back on time and keep them from racing on the roads.

We have corrected the route sheet on the WFO website as of 10 am Friday morning.
I'm sure Ryan will fix the ones on this site soon but for now you can go to http://www.wfopromotions.com/ for the corrected version.

Superman, I sometimes hit trees, or MX riders that won't move. Also I'm not sure about Walker but I heard some won't be sandbagging the A class this time, any truth to that???
And I just spoke to Heath and the route sheet is going to updated again so I took down the link to it. They probably won't be ready until sign up time.

Ms. cornstalker: Don not forget to eat your wheaties before the race. I will also have the boys shave the edge off my tire today to better your chances for the overall win. You must have forgot: The last time I passed you at Geneseo it about spun you around. You looked a lot like a owl with your neck turned all sorts of crazy. Which way did he go , which way did he go!

Well I survived. I must admit it was an ass kicker though. Fun sections and sections that turned me into a potty mouth. After one creek crossing I finally crawled out of I leaned my bike against a tree, took off all my gear, and just laid down on the hill side.

I saw the Frontera in the pits. Looked like too nice of a bike to thrash in the enduro.

yeah, that was my Frontera and as usual with Buls, I'll probably spend a week on maintenance before it's next ride. You're right that I did thrash it a bit. I guess I'll claim my poor memory that I don't remember enduros being as difficult as this one. My last enduro was in 1990. Maybe it's my age and poor physical condition but those early steep hills just sapped me. I wasn't alone though. I watched many others struggle to get to the top of some of those. Some sadistic bast**rd arrowed those trails. I'm not ready to make the Frontera a museum piece yet. I just haven't ridden it enough yet. It's been in moth balls too long. Still time left to air it out. See you guys at the next enduro somewhere.

As I had mentioned there are some vintage friendly events in the area, one of which is the Walnut VMX race Oct 10th. But if you insist on torturing yourself, the Leaf River enduro is a good run on Nov 8th.

No. For some reason I had it on my calendar for Nov 8th. But I see the schedule says Oct 25th? I don't know, but October is probably correct. |
